Both these electronic devices used to perform in their own verticals with some overlapping. With the passage of time, this has modified and these segments have converted into something called Mobile Internet Devices (MID). A mobile internet device has no limited boundaries as laptops are getting smaller and mobile phones are becoming capable to perform multiple complicated tasks.
Next great development was the convergence of internet connection technologies. An online world gone from fixed connections such as LANs to wireless connections such as WLANs. The telecom world designed for making and receiving calls are also transformed to high speed wireless broadband connections.
